PEARLS, LACE, ROSES AND
        "THE OLD DAYS"

        "THE OLD DAYS"

The little kid sat on his knee, And looked up with stars in his eyes.. He said, Grandaddy, tell me again, How was it when you were my size?

The old man remembered with care, And the memories flooded his mind. He said it was wild and free in the west, But that was before your time.

I had me a little blue roan.. And son, he could run like the wind, And right over there where the parking lot is,
We raced and always could win.

Where they put up the State Valley Bank.. The Indians would camp on the site, And the very first antelope herd that I saw, Was right at the new signal light.

And down by the furniture store, Where every week they have a sale.. The Overland Stage at the end of each week, Would come by and drop off the mail.

And, oh, I remember the time.. When Buffalo Bill all alone, Caught up with the Daltons and they shot it out... It was down by the savings and loan.

And Grandma, may she rest in peace, Would wait for me down by the strand
and finally, one day, I gave her a ring, That spot's now a hamburger stand.

Asphalt and pavement now run over all my boyhood days
People need people, and out west they came.. But I don't begrudge'm their ways.

Oh, yes, it was different back then, and everythings changed so it seems, But deep in my heart I miss it sometimes.... So, I have to go back in my dreams.

Every Sunrise is a Message from God,
        Every Sunset is His Signature.

        HAPPINESS, is like Potato salad---
when you share it with others, IT'S A PICNIC !!

A recipe that is not shared with others will soon be forgotten,
But when it's shared, it will be enjoyed by future generations.

        "ROSES"

What is it about the Rose, that strikes the heart of so many people? More than any other flower, the Rose takes the heart of many women and men alike. My own personal preference, is the Yellow Rose.
Even songs were made up of it, "The Yellow Rose of Texas"

        And this all time favorite
        "The Rose" by Bette Midler

        "PEARLS"

Pearl= Beauty. Pearls dissolved in wine were said by the ancients to act as an aphrodisiac, but today's women prefer more conventional decorative uses for the feminine stone. They are the most universally worn of all the birthstones, prized by women born in any month.

        "LACE"

Lace, how else would you describe that intriquite, delicate, piece of thread? Grama made them, they adorned her tables, her couches, special occasions. I know my Grama made them constantly. They were everywhere. I see snowflakes, and I think of lace. It warms my heart to see it adorning wedding gowns, dresses, and reminds me of

A BEVERAGE RECIPE YOU MAY LIKE....

        "Hydro Dyawkside Plunge"

        1 Quart tap Hydro
1 washed out plastic or glass pitcher
        & several small glasses

        2 trays of frozen ice
(NOT to be confused with thawed ice)

Fill the clean pitcher with the tap Hydro, saving 2 inches at the top for the ice
Crack open an ice try and plop.... the tray into the Hydro mixture.
(**IMPORTANT**.. the ice hitting the water "MUST" make a plopping sound for the best results)
Simple ground flavor can be added by tossing a dropped cube into the mixture, sort of gives
the Hydro mix a "homey" flavor.
Next, pour the glasses full of the Hydro Dyawkside and enjoy.
        Serves a full quarts worth.

COMMENTS: Variations on the theme can be accomplished with well Hydro, or creek Hydro.
Creek Hydro has been already running for 2 min., so no need to wait. The Miller family has
lived off this beauty for years. Highly recommended to all. Pullen Jurehg Miller IV, circa. 1322
